Easter holidays start here! While Birmingham Holiday Activities has to be virtual this Easter to make sure we are complying with all the COVID rules, we’ve worked hard to find loads of great ideas for all ages (from 5-16 years) to enjoy, download and stream.
Look out for:
Play – loads of games ideas to play on your doorstep with no equipment or with simple props, indoors and out. Some old school playground favourites and brand-new ones too. Or why not get outdoors and enjoy free activities with Active Parks Birmingham across some of the city’s fantastic parks and green spaces? Birmingham Park Stars will be sharing their Passport to Nature – quizzes, nature trails and 15-minute challenges – to make that trip to the park even more fun.
Sport – for all – everything from football skills and drills from Aston Villa and Birmingham City FC’s community teams to dance, fitness and Bhangra workouts and 60 second sport challenges from the Youth Sport Trust – are you up to the burpee challenge?!
Food – tasty recipes and Easter treats to try at home, tips and hints on healthy eating – even learn to cook and speak a new language all at the same time with Linguacuisine!
Arts & Crafts – there’s a wide selection of affordable, creative arty-crafty ideas for children from Early Years to teenagers including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Look out for fun Easter-themed craft ideas to make your Easter creations (including those long-time favourite Easter nest cakes!), creative writing workshops and resources to boost reading, writing, and listening skills, as well a library of free e-books and phonics for young ones. Or maybe you want to get some inspiration for creating your own rap? It’s all in here.
Youth – ideas to express creativity with dance and music, Riseabove resources to help boost wellbeing, mental health and how to stay safe and social online. Or maybe check out one of Birmingham’s heritage walking trails and learn more about the history of our great city?
If you or anyone you know needs more support or help during Easter, then you can contact our partners at The Active Wellbeing Society whose #Brumtogether campaign has been helping people all over Birmingham throughout the COVID pandemic. They can provide well-being activities for those in need and they continue to provide food parcels, cooked meals, bulk food collections, clothing and phone support.
